Choosing a Tile Color

There are a few questions that I often get when customers come into our store to try and pick ceramic tile. One of the most common is, “How should I pick the color of my tile?”. My advice for this is to first look at other areas in your house that have the largest areas of color for example- walls, cabinets, or furniture. If you have a few contrasting features in a room such as a bright sofa or dark cabinets it might be best to find a tile that matches your wall so those items will really pop. In most cases however contrasting your wall color and tile color will create the most visual impact. If you prefer a more subtle look then pick a color that is in the same family for example- light beige walls and rich brown floor tiles.

Don’t be afraid to bring in samples of fabrics or paint colors from your house while tile shopping. It could make your shopping experience much easier and less stressful if you have something you can compare and contrast to.
